Re: What can a 58 hp tractor do that a 43 hp can\'t?
Keep in mind that a 58 hp tractor is going to have a cat 2 3pt hitch, where a 43 should be cat 1. The majority of smaller implements are cat 1. The make bushings so you can use them on a cat 2.
For shredders I hear 5hp per foot. So you should be able to use a 2' larger shredder with the larger tractor. Other implements such as ground engaging plows require 10-20 hp per foot, so you may get one foot wider.
Are you ever going to haul the tractor places or just use it at home? I am not sure of what brands or models you are looking at but the 47hp tractor I have is right at the maximum weight I can haul around on a trailer without going to a serious heavy duty gooseneck trailer. I would imagine you can transport the 43hp, but the 58hp would be quite heavy.
What is the price difference and what is your time worth? The 43 will do everything the 58 will, just slower.
