What can my Kubota L2800 handle?

First time CUT owner. (Kubota L2800). I've received varying opinions on how big of a box blade I can put on the tractor. Even my salesman hedged. Any recommendations? 5ft? 6ft? Does weight of the box blade have anything to do with it. Im new to all of this. Thanks.

The manual says 54" max. I use a 5 ft one, but it just barely covers the tire tracks. I have stopped my L3400 by setting the depth too deep in the first pass. Many here use a 6 footer so that it easily covers the tire tracks. They all say it pulls the 6 footer no problem.

I have a 5ft BB for my L2800, and it also barely covers the wheel tracks. I figure "barely" is enough, since the 5ft DOES cover the tracks. I am also a first time tractor owner, and I have found that a heavier BB works better. I have some 40lb steel "bricks" that I can add to mine, and it helps.

Which box blades are the heaviest? Are the weights "advertised" somewhere on the blade? I assume the heavier blades cost more. Thanks.

I don't know who makes the heaviest one, but the manufacturer should be able to tell you for each one. Mine does not have the weight listed on the box blade. It is a Lowery 5 ft model and weighs 382 lb, per their website. Yes, in general, more weight equals more money.

I use a 5 foot Rhino and have been pleased with it. Had a cheap one before it and basically felt like I threw my money away. As others have said the best size is the smallest that will extend beyond the rear wheels and for the 2800/3400's that would be the 5 foot models. Weight is good for digging in but also must be supported by the tractor. I'm convinced that the quality brand's 5 foot medium duty models are about ideal for the basic L series tractors.

I have a 72" Befco, which weighs over 500lbs. Works great, but sometimes requires 4wd to get moving. I wouldn't go smaller.

I am using the six foot King Kutter and it does a wonderful job and I had the same concerns when I bought mine. It is well built and heavy enough that I do not need additional weight. The extra width is great for h\getting next to dirt banks and objects. I can pull with all six tooth bars fully extended but sometimes require four wheel drive. I finish with a six foot KK rock rake and the job turns out better than with a road grader. I negotiated the price with the store I purchased it at and got a great deal.

Mine is a 66" Cammond and 830lbs, my L2800 pulls it fine but it will pull it to a stop in a hurry with tires spinning. I have moved alot of dirt with this BB.
66" covers my tracks by 3" on each side.
