no problem at all. If you worry put some of what ever your putting in there slosh it around and pour it out and refill, it will further dilute it. But seriously its not necessary. It wont hurt.

"Pour it out and refill it...." HEAVEN FORBID anybody do that !!! Isn't that the reason the government mandated those stupid "Spill-proof" cans and spouts? I spilled more fuel using those POS designs in one year than I did using the older design of Chilton cans over a 20 year period !!!

I don't think the few ounces you get will matter, but

The remote cannery where I get most of my fuel used to only have one pipe to fill all the tanks when a fuel barge would come in. Depending on how attentive the fuel guy was there was a fair amount of mixing at times. Gasoline in the diesel didn't cause any problems that I know of but with the old two stroke outboards you could smell the diesel in the exhaust still no problem. Fast forward to the new four stroke outboards and they all started "making oil" as the diesel would wash past the rings and start raising oil levels sometimes very rapidly if you did a lot of idling as in fishing! Took us a while to figure it out because contamination was an intermittent thing!

I mistakenly put about 30L of regular into our 7.3 powerstroke, and it ran absolutely the same as straight diesel.

It would have been about 25% gasoline.

I also ran a two stroke stihl on Jet A in a pinch, and while it worked the engine was toast afterwards.

The detonation from the low octane kerosene would have pounded the piston, rings, piston pin, connecting rod, bearings and crank with higher than designed pressure spikes.

When I empty a can, I leave the cap loose for a day [especially a sunny day] and all the remaining fuel evaporates. Working with nature -- just that simple.
