Best I can tell, I possibly need either a new shift fork (#4)
or a new #16,
which rotates on the shaft to slide the fork "fore-and aft"

Have you tried to adjust the turn buckle above the "L" that attaches to #24,
or even taking the lever loose there and try rotating #24 by hand to see if it engages?
To physically see #4 or #16 it looks to me that the top cover and 3 pt housing willneed to come off.
good luck, you pics look to be very close to the ones for the 3510I

I found the link for that manual, it was here a year ago

Here's a parts break down that covers Branson 2910, 3510, 3820, 4220, 4720, 2910i, 3110i, 3510i, 3820i, 4220i, 4720i Not sure how long it will be available on the Internet so you may want to print it to a PDF file (it's 180 pages)

No, because when moving the lever you can FEEL that there is DEFINITELY something bent inside the transmission.

Yes, unfortunately - - It looks like the top will have to come off for sure, and also most likely the PTO rear cover as well.

The shear pin in the shredder never sheared, either (It's grade 2). What a disappointment.

One really strange occurrence, is that It doesn't bleed down now! Before, the 3-point hitch wld bleed down in about 6 hours, and the loader would bleed down shortly thereafter. Now, it's been several days – and the 3-point hitch & the loader are still up in the air, off the ground. WEIRD. The knob under the front of the seat has never had much of any effect when the engine was stopped, it only made a difference when the tractor was running.
