What did I just buy?

I love auctions! I wasn't planning on buying a tractor yesterday, but I got a bunch of other stuff that I was planning on buying for pennies on the dollar. I had extra cash by the time they were auctioning the tractors, and this one went for cheap.

After I bought it, I looked around for a model number. All I found is the G-1030 stamped on the side of the transmission as shown in the first picture. When I did a search for "Case G-1030" I got hits on a transmission for a Case 530. It could be the 530. It's about the right size.

Does anyone know what tractor this is? Were would I look for identifying marks?

That is a 300 case! First tractor I ever drove as a kid on our farm. Has 4 speed transmision with a 3 range. Has a pedal clutch and hand clutch for when using PTO. They are super tractors. Might be able to find manual for it. Will look for it and let you know if I find it.

Yep -- a 300 -- the 530 metal work on the front is much sharper lined and squarish. Looks like fun!

A manual would be wonderful. There are so many knobs and levers. I have a meeting with the "Idaho Rusty Object Nuts" (I.R.O.N., the local antique tractor club) on the 25th. I'm sure I can get some help then, but a manual would be the best.

The muffler is definately an "aftermarket" part. Each one of my three kids asked me independent of one another tonight, "Is that a Cannon?"

$900. I think it's worth at least that.

Based on how everything else was selling, it was definately a buyer's auction that day. Along with some other stuff, I got a nice saddle for $130, a tandem axle trailer for $200, and a huge floor jack for $20.
