2006 John Deere 2305
I purchased my new 2305 at the end of september. I purchased a Woods BH6000 with it. I found the backhoe attachment brackets for a 2210 would not work as my salesman promised. Evenutually I found out (with no help from my salesman) that the brackets were in development and wouldn't be available for about 6 weeks. Now 10 weeks later, I still do not have the brackets. I have called my dealer a number of times. My salesman has not returned my calls. The service manager finally checked on the brackets about 3 weeks ago and told me they would be shipped on November 24th. He then emailed to tell me they would be shipped on the 29th and he was sorry for the delay. I still do not have the brackets. I called the dealer 2 times today. My salesman will not answer and does not return my call when I leave a message. The service manager is on vacation. I asked to talk to someone else in service and they hung up on me. I called back and asked to talk to a manager or owner and I was told there was none there.

This is my first new tractor purchase and probably my last. I have never purchased anything new other than a house. I have been waiting for years for this purchase and I am very disappointed and aggravated with this dealer. They have ruined this experience. I can't believe how bad I have been treated and it's unacceptable.

My only thought at this point is to be sure anyone else ready to deal in my area will know how this dealer operates and avoid them.

rv,

Sorry to hear more and more about your continuing saga. I, as had many others, had hoped it would all work out, and you would soon forget about the pains as you got more and more seat time. Unreturned calls are unacceptable. "I don't know, or we are still waiting for a response", though frustrating, are more acceptable. You could start with a complaint with your BBB. I would think this would get the owner's interest fast. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

rvtech,

I'm sorry to hear about your treatment. To be fair, is the issue with JD or with Woods? I have to assume the 2305 tractor is running fine.

Document all efforts to resolve the problem in a letter and send it to the dealer. Tell them you need a firm fixed delivery date for the missing brackets. IF they cannot deliver, then request a refund for the BH. That should help them set a priority to get your problem resolved.

I think the issue is with the dealer. I asked the salesman specific questions about the backhoe on a 2305. He lied to me. They had never installed a backhoe on that model, but he told me they had. The salesman does not return my calls. I called Woods direct to get my information otherwise I would not have any. Woods gave me the straight story on the brackets. They returned my call.

A refund for the backhoe is unacceptable. I intended to have a backhoe when they promised it. The tractor has little value to me at this point without the backhoe. I have an estimate for over $3000 to do the work I bought this backhoe for. It was also intended to be the ballast for my loader making the loader virtually worthless to this point. I also have lost time taking vacation to do backhoe work. I recently took 2 more days off in order to be home to receive the promised brackets again. A refund for the entire tractor is what I need. I would then purchase a BX23 with a backhoe already on it.

Hi rvtech,

Ask for the manager, tell him what your experience has been...

If somehow they have created a successful dealership without good leadership, I would be surprised... I have a feeling he'll (oops, could be a woman-- "they") will be very disappointed.

IF that's the case, contact Deere & let them know: this dealer is representing them in your area, and they have a corporate commitment to treating custmers well... I doubt you'll have to, but it's a last-ditch effort. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

To be fair, we don't know what kind of person you are on the phone, so I won't judge your 'no answer' or 'no returned' calls.
I don't like the response you are getting, for sure.

But, if they can't get the parts you need, what can they do about it? They are forced to wait the same as you.

I think it comes with the territory of buying the 'new kid' on the block.

Real sorry that it is not working out well for you.

At the point you're at, I'd call JD corporate direct. No manager available, no owner available, no sales rep to help?? Sounds like a run-around. You can bet JD corporate has a territory manager or some such regional person with the authority to jump in and make things right. Don't hesitate to call your way up the food chain and I'll bet you'll be happy in no time.

tell them you are going to break out the picket signs.
I have had nothing but bad experiences with my deere dealer with the exception of one..

And I've had nothing but great experiences with my present dealer, and the previous ones before this one. They are people just like we are. Some good traits, some that we don't get along with, etc. It works both ways.
Some difficulty here when the Woods machine is involved. Not just a 'Deere' problem, as it sounds like the Deere product is ok. But, lots of people (and I could name a bunch I am involved with at the moment in the health industry) say something 'quick' to get you satisfied, and then have to lie like a rug to cover up for their carelessness. The only real 'defense' is to 'go somewhere' else to do business.

I don't think a dealer can be responsible for any committments made, nor vacation time taken, nor work not getting done. Life just isn't that smooth and 'comfortable' as we'd like it to be. All salesmen are not as knowledgable as they would like us to think they are, and that can lead to confusion and frustration. Sounds like what may be happening here.

Still hope it works out.

rvtech, i too had the misfortune of dealing with a salesman named arin @ jd equip. in london oh. i bought a loader for a jd 445. but the bucket was missing but would be no problem getting one. 3 wks later after several calls to the salesman but no bucket. i then started calling the sales manager leaving polite but firm messages. i then got a call from the salesman saying my bucket was in. went to get it, i don't think the salesman said 3 words to me. i don't know what else to tell you except the service you are receiving from them & the salesman is not unprecedented. call john deere and good luck.
