I saw these on Amazon a while back while looking for something else and now I don't remember the proper name to search for them.
I need to buy some for my joystick. They have threads on 4 sides so you can mount the joystick facing up or out.
What's their name?

Barrel nut. You could drill and tap threaded couplers also.

I just extended my joysticks with threaded couplers and ready rod. Here is what I just did yesterday.

Mine were 10mmx1.5.

I did it this way for strength. I still need to put blue loctite on the threads.

I don't need to extend them. I need to change the direction they point 90 degrees.
A barrel nut only has holes on 2 sides. I need a nut with threaded holes on 4 sides.

Buy two. Weld one across the end of the other.

Or weld a bolt on the side of the nut. Depends on the gender of your hardware. :)

Do you have enough clearance to use something like this? I've seen these with either pipe thread or bolt thread:

On a Nortrac valve I found this on the nut you are looking for and it’s the same for 2-3-4-5-6 way directional valves and it appears to be part of another item, here is a diagram from Northern tool. It is item 19.

There is a phone number listed so you can call and see it that piece is available separately.

Actually, I could use something as simple as this if I could find one with bolt thread to screw my handle into and then screw it into my valve to change the direction that my handle faces but I can not find one with the right thread.

My question is where can I get replacement rubber boots for that same style valve?

Standoff nut? But drilled the way these are will be hard to find...
looks like it would be easy to fabricate what you want

It is probably number 18 on the parts breakdown I posted, wish it had part numbers but at least there is a phone number you can call.

I have solved my problem. I got my neighbor to bend the control rods 90 degrees in his press and I am then extending the rods with a coupler and threaded shaft as lmold did in post #2.

Thank you for the suggestion!
Part #18 is actually part of a complete handle kit.
I only need the little rubber dust boots.
Three complete handle kits is way too expensive ($100+) to get 3 little rubber dust covers/boots.
