I have been looking at all kinds of bucket forks and came across these on ebay.. I like the fact that you can adjust width of forks without unclamping, moving chains etc.. as far as how much weight I will ever lift, I am not sure.. I know the beefier the better... any other designs out there like this.. I want a easy to use adjustable fork system.. I have looked at just about everything on the internet and this design seems easiest to use. I will use mostly to move implements around and some logs, etc..dont want a dedicated fork lift where I have to detach bucket..

TRS.. I think these are great and I can not tell you how many times I could have used something like that. As you said the fact that you don't have to dismantle the FEL and be able to slide adjust the two arms looks brillant.....I am sure this design will have some welders on here firen them up...

Those are nice, good feature about the adjustability but 300 bucks. I know that is probably going rate for forks. I also wonder about the tested to 1600#. Where did the weight lay on the forks, even distrabution or towards the bucket. Those come with only the guys (sellers) claim. If one breaks and a log breaks your leg your SOL.

Have you ever considered buying a welder? With a little time and trial and error you can build your own. So I say learn to weld and make your own. JMO

I dont think I would trust them with a 1600 pound load. But they do look handy otherwise.

Notamustang I have a mig welder but right now my average day consists of 5-10 projects a day..can you say busy.. moving and getting home in Florida ready to sell..I have so many things to take care of right now that making a set of forks is not in the cards unfortunately. I know the price is nothing special, I do like the design though... if anyone knows of a sets of forks with a similar design let me know, as I just got tractor and will need a set of forks soon to dismantle auto lift, move downed trees, etc.

Thanks Trs

Could try taking a picture to your local fabricating place and get a quote.

trs..... have you taken the bucket off your Branson yet? It is very quick. I like to set mine down on a couple of cement blocks...but you just lift a pin and swing the bar, and lower your fel arms and back off. I bet I can drop my bucket and attach my branson forks in less time than you can attach those other ones. Also, with dedicated forks, you get a high back guard to keep thing from rolling back too far, and can move heavy things like logs closer to your lift arms. You should be able to pick up a set of dedicated quick attach forks for the branson for approx $650.

On the other hand, I have a fellow branson owner in my area that drilled a hole in each side of his bucket, got a car axle rod from a junk yard that was long enough to go through the holes and be pinned. He also has a couple of heavy leaf springs that he attaches to the axle and uses as forks. He has a portable sawmill, so sticks these on to help move logs. Seems to work for him.

One thing I don't like about them is they don't have a vertical "back" to them. at least not that I could see in the pics. Depending on what you are using them for, if you tilt the bucket back too far, into the bucket your item goes.

I helped make a set similar to these a couple of years ago. The guy that has them has used the heck out of 'em since. Don't know how much they cost (he had the metal) , but I'd like to have a set, too!

Looks like you could bend a light duty bucket up real easy if the clamps weren't all the way to the sides... also kind of uncertain if the center rod would hold up since it is unsupported in the middle.

For balanced loads up to 500 lbs I think that they would be O.K.

Pete.
