Hello all,
Just curious as to what the "D" and "DA" after the model number means?

The grill guard is an option and does not come standard on the DA. Seems like I paid around 250.00 when I bought mine new with the tractor. To me it is worth it.johnnylight said:Rick,

RickB said:The original TC series had the 'TC' followed by the gross engine hp (ie. 40), and maybe a D for Deluxe which meant hydrostatic and other features. Hence, a TC40 was a gear drive 40 hp compact. The TC40D was a 40 hp hydrostatic tractor with other deluxe features. The 'A' series followed with a few refinements and different hood and headlights. So then the same tractors would be a TC40A and a TC40DA. The A denotes a later series than the same size tractor without the 'A'.
Grille guards are DIA's (dealer installed accessories).johnnylight said:Rick,
