What does the abbreviation subcur or scut mean?

I have seen this, subcut or scut, for sometime now and have no idea what it means.

Is there any place on this forum where abreviations are explained?

Subcut or scut is Sub-Compact Utility Tractor.

Generally it would be specifically referring to the low profile tractors like the Kubota BX23 series tractors, the Massey GC series, the New Holland TZ series, Case/Farmall DX"e" series, Deere 22xx series machines, etc.

While small, these things are far more heavily built than even the stoutest lawn or garden tractor. They are just very small compact tractors. Ideal for smaller properties, perhaps 3.5 acres or less. Great with a mid-mount mower. Adequate with a front loader and 3pt implements. They are very popular little machines, popular enough that many manufacturers now make smaller implemements specifically for this class of machine.
