What does this years construction season for dirt excavator look like for the summer?

Wondering what the available excavation construction work for this years construction season is looking like in your area?
The bids that you have been bidding, has the low bider been buying the work?
It's very quite in the upper Midwest, what bids there are; are being bid very low in price, some just unreal they are so low.
Was talking to a regional banker (many banks under his supervision) who informed me that some very good contractors that have been around for a long time are losing every thing even the house.
Not many excavation business are folding up, they are still hanging on, wonder how long they can last.
What is happening in your neck of the woods?
