What happened to Ford

For the sake of political discussion, the American continent covers North, Central and South America. The United States is also located in North America. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

There is a difference between Deutz and Deutz-Allis and a person has to be careful about how they state things. There is also a big difference between owing a company and having a marketing agreement with them. A person can get some information and put it down wrong and make it totally wrong. You need to read some of the history of AGCO. Here is a place that has it pretty well condensed.
There are some things that I don't like at all that AGCO does, but some people make them out to be a whole lot worse that they really are. There are even a lot of people that run their mouth and don’t have a clue about anything that they are saying. The sad part is that there are some that will believe them no matter how wrong their information is. As most large companies they are foremost for the shareholder because without them they could not operate.

First off, all of New Holland tractors are made overseas. The TC is shipped to Georgia, and shipped to US dealers. As for American made, they all have tractors made overseas, even JD. From a dealer standpoint, the purchase of Case wasn't necessarily a good thing. I sold for a NH dealership for a number of years, and it seemed to me that CNH has never been able to decide if they want to sell Red or Blue. CNH stock got as low as 1.06 a share a couple of years ago, it's up now, but has never gotten to what it was prior to purchasing Case.. To me that's an indication of a company that still hasn't found it's direction. As for the TC30, it's a jam-up little tractor. I agree the 4wd will have better resale, and if you ever consider a loader it's a big plus.

The TG, TJ and TV are all built in the US.

My apologies, you're correct. I should have been specific about hp.

Just got back from looking at a TC30. Sure, 4wd would be the way. FEL adds a lot of $$ to the cost. Just over 10K without loader, but just over 15K with. Wow! Not sure how much I'd actually use it, but it is tempting.

So what does the naked tractor actually weigh. I can only find numbers of 2193 lbs. But that is 2wd version. Called two different dealers and neather could give me the weight on the 4wd version. Come on! These uninformed dealers irritate the *** out of me. So I'm GUESSING an additional 200 lbs for the 4wd. Maybe 2400 lbs total before loader etc. I even had one tell me the 2193 was before tires. ??? The spec sheet says 2wd with ag tires. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Now here is a issue that might get some fired up. One even told me that the engine, essentially everything under the hood, on the TC 30 and TC 33 are the same. Not only that but that the missing 3 hp on the TC 30 could be reclaimed with a slight re-adjustment. Does it ever end??? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif So I questioned a second dealer about the two engines being the same. He told me that they are not. That the TC 30 runs the older 20 series engine. However, I see that the displacements on these two engines are the same. I have finally concluded that buying a car is far easier than all this. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
However, I did try the lift on the TC 30. It works great. This single issue has driven me away from the Kubota L3400, another tractor I really like.

The difference between Deutz and Deutz-Allis is 1985, the year Deutz bought Allis-Chalmers. Deutz-Allis then sold out to a management buyout group,Agco. Deutz-Fahr held manufacturing and marketing in Germany while Agco held a market agreement for the sale and use of Deutz tractors with or without Agco colors and label, this was a ten year deal. In the next few years the marketing and use of tractor components from Deutz fell shorter and shorter as Agco, the management buyout group bought other companies and sales agreements. Let's face it , the only reason Agco bought Deutz-Allis was to get the Gleaner. The death of what was one of the worlds largest and oldest engine, tractor and implement manufactures-Deutz-Fahr was near until Same bought them to form the Same-Deutz Fahr Group which I believe is now the largest private held tractor company in the world. My close friend worked for Allis-Chalmers and Deutz-Allis for a total of 13 years and not as a floor sweeper. My experience of 27 years in business has shown that acquisition companies or buyout groups are not always the knight in shinning armor. They tend to maim and kill on the rise an then the ones who support them are done the same to on the way down. With all this said Agco is a strong company and getting stronger. They have a lot of great equipment under their banner. But then again I may not know what i'm talking about, maybe running my mouth without a clue?

Like it or not we all are going to dance to the new world order!!!

I am still waiting to find out which company it was that bought its self-back from AGCO.
