Looking for ideas. If yall had $200,000.00 to spend on mulching equipment what would you buy ? One machine or two smaller ones, lets hear it

Exactly, after buying gold or silver with it.

Unless you have an established mulching business or a huge contract I would invest in something else. Mulching is a niche that is very difficult survive in and even harder to get started in unless you just have several hundred thousand dollars laying and need the tax write off.

If you have a contract I would go with a dedicated machine such as the Fecon 148. You will also need a truck/trailer to pull it with and at least $25K in the bank to keep you going until you start getting paid.

If you're really, seriously considering spending $200,000.00 on mulching equipment you'll probably need to spend the first $50,000 on therapy. After that, hopefully you would burry the remaining $150,000 in the back yard. :laughing:
But if you just absolutly have to spend it on mulching equipment don't buy a skidsteer, or CTL. Get a dedicated carrier. You may not be happy with it, but you'll be a lot happier than if you buy a CTL.
There should be an H in there somewhere, for the Headache in CTL. :laughing:

We added mulching as a secondary business utilizing current labor. It's not busy all the time, but it does earn an extra 50k per year. I'm sure we could do better if mulching was all we do. I like the skid steer because we can haul it without a cdl and we can also use the machine on the ranch for all kinds of work. I can honestly say that our skidsteer does a good job with few problems.

As bad of luck as you have had with mulchers, I figure you are just trying to stir something up. If I had your luck, I wouldn't touch a mulcher for no amount of money.
