Price Check What is a fair price for my L245DT

Hi Group

I have a L245DT just sitting as I am not able to get it running due to health reasons, I have put in new injectors, new glow plugs, new ignition switch, new starter switch, have a new fan blade for it(i broke one blade) metal in pretty good shape. Tires look ok.I have owned it for 2 years and had it running for about half hour, ran good no smoke after started, but had to get it started with a spray of starter fluid ( I know) but am not going to use it the compression on 2 front cyl was 200-250 the last cyl. was 400 so I dont know if this is why it hasent started on its own I think it has to do with injector pump// No air in line just wont start with out a spray of fluid. I have right at $3,000.00 in it is it possible to get my money back out of it?? I live in Bradenton Fl. if anyone is interested please E-Mail me at BigD924@aol.com

Hello Dennis -
It sounds to me like the compression problem could be just a head gasket. The injection pump doesn't really affect compression very much, but a small gasket leak between cylinders would lower compression enough that it wouldn't start on diesel fuel, but still would on starter fluid. The head gasket is an easy job on these (2-3 hours) so it shouldn't cost much to have it done by someone if you are not feeling up to it. Parts should be under $75. If were closer I'd change it for you for a beer. Hope you are feeling better.

Yeah I think that probally is the problem with it, I just cant spend any more money on it as I am on disability and am not able to get out in the heat and do it anymore, the heat here is brutal. Boy do I have the beer for you haha. Thanks for the reply.
