will it fit the GT2542 I am supposed to purchase soon?

Also what type of cut does it give?

I have always use the Ninga recycling blades on my 41" Snapper and it has always given me a nice cut. When the grass gets high and gets away from me a little bit, I might have to go over the clumps and cut them up again, but that is no big deal to me. Thanks in advance for the replies. The PMZ

Go Gator and you'll never go back to a regular blade.

I purchased Gator blades for my CC 2554 and very satisfied with the product and the results. I found the blades to be effective when mowing leaves in the fall. And, with regular mowings, the clippings are much smaller when ejected. As Fordlords noted in his post...I will purchase Gator blades from now on.

Obviously, if you read prior posts on the topic, many people think Gator blades are great, and maybe so. I know that I'm in the minority, but a brother-in-law had an old Montgomery Ward riding mower, 10 or 11 years ago, went for the sales pitch from a local shop owner, and bought Gator blades for it. Then he was telling me how great they were. So a neighbor, who had an MTD riding mower, and I (who had a 1995 Cub Cadet at the time) visited the dealer, who told us all the great and wonderful things about the Gator blades. We bought'em. It did not take the neighbor and me long to throw them in the garbage and go back to OEM blades. Then I found that the brother-in-law had also thrown his away. Since they cost a LOT more than our OEM blades, I can't help but wonder whether some of the people who bought them just don't want to admit it was a mistake. On the other hand, maybe since so many people seem happy with them, it's just me, the neighbor, and the brother-in-law who were mistaken.:D The only thing I know for sure is that I won't be needing any Gator blades anytime in the near future.

My front yard was an 80ft X 30 foot layer of leaves about 6" deep last fall.

In 3 or 4 passes with the gators on my 1864, there was zero evidence that the leaves ever existed.

Thanks guys, it looks like a mixed bag. I guess we will try the GT2542 staright up first and then go from there. Thanks for the feedback pro and con, The PMZ

As far as what I have found with Cub Cadet, I can get the Gator's cheaper for it on E-Bay ($12.99 ea) than the stock OEM blades that are about $15.00 ea. Not a huge price difference, but the Gators are cheaper. There probably are discount stores and such I could find $5.99 universal blades for my deck, but they will be just that, $5.99 Chinese blades that are definitely going to get tossed at the end of the season.

I compared cut quality with the Gators, discharge (I discharge with these rather than mulch) and blade life. As far as life, I am still using the ones I bought last year, gave them a quick sharpening with a Dremel tool, they are still in excellent condition. I find the cut quality superior to any straight blade I have used, and the clippings are oh so nicely minced, and pick up easily in my sweeper. Just had a bit more time to write tonight as to the reasons I like the Gators.

I don't see it as a mixed bag at all. While I recognize and value Bird's post, it is the first non-pro Gator post I've ever seen.

I'll run nothing but Gators from now on.

And they are only $11 each :)
