What is a good finish mower for the price?

I had a Landpride #2560 (5') on my L2900 and it served me well for 12 years. I foam-filled the tires and never had a problem. Keep the blades sharp and it will rival a lawnmower cut. You can also use it in heavy stuff it there aren't stumps or rocks. I bought a Fred Kain first and returned it. You get what you pay for.

I've had both BEFCO and Woods (which was sold through Deere as a Frontier, BTW) and can recommend both brands.
The Woods is the heavier mower, but the BEFCO cut every bit as well.

I had a BushHog RDTH 72 and a RDTH60 and both performed well. I would still be using one except I have a lot of springs in my yard and any finishing mower does not do well on soft ground. All or most of the weight is on the wheels of the mower rather than a deck being suspended from the belly of a regular mower.

Love my Woods PRD8400 (7' finish cutter). Do proper maintenance on it and it will last a life time. Superior product!

I'm using a rear discharge, 5 foot Caroni I got at AgriSupply for $1300 and have been very happy with it. It came with solid wheels and a remote lube setup so you don't have to remove the covers to grease the spindles. They have a 6 foot version for $1470 (w/out shipping).

Sitrex mowers are available at EverythingAttachments. They look very similar to the Caroni & I think they use the same blades (& belts?). If they don't have the remote lube setup you could probably use the $25 Caroni kit from AgriSupply, I would expect the M6 zerk to be on both. EverythingAttachments has a 6 foot Sitrex available for $2124 delivered (within 1000 miles).

Have a MF RF500, which is built by Alamo, great mower, well built, and an excellent cut.

I have a king kutter FM72 that I bought used and it does a great job mowing my 5 acres. New I believe are in the $1300 range.

you cant go wrong with the bushhog rfm . i have a side discharge 72'' that i paid 900 for and it was well worth it .

I'd like to give First Choice honorable mention. I had the GM35-84 model, and it was bulletproof. Excellent value for the money. That said, the chart shows your PTO horsepower to be on the low end for a six footer.
