There is a TC40 DA that someone is selling in my area with a loader. It has about 250 hrs on it.

It seems to be in very good shape. Any comments regarding the tractor and a fair price for it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is it from a dealer? Does it have warranty? Did you look at it and know what shape it is in, or is this something someone told you? Has it been stored inside or outside? Is the loader quick connect or pin-on bucket?

As you can tell, there are lots of questions not answered in your post. I'd start at $17k as a median and go up and down depending on the positives and negatives of the tractor. I think $18.5k would be my top offer in the first round of negotiations, and I would not expect it to ever sell below $16k unless the seller is really stressed. If it was a pristine tractor at a dealership and had warranty left, I might go as high as $19k. It would depend on my needs and the fact that this is prime tractor selling season.

I think prices vary depending on location, I know here in Alaska the prices are generally 2-3K higher than I have seen comp. tractors in the states. I think Jinman has given you some very good numbers. I bought an 05 TC40DA last year it had a few more hours than that one, it also came with a Backhoe, snowblower, BB and Rake for 26K I LOVE it!!! (My wife calls it my mistress, because I spend so much time in the shop...with her) :D

Thanks for the replies. It is a quick tach and has a 16la loader. I am going to take a look at it. It is not from a dealer, so, I'm not sure if the warranty would transfer or not. It also has quick tach pallet forks and a 7 foot blade

Do you know if it would transfer?

Great info! That does sound like a much better deal. For that tractor, you might have to go nearly $20k with all the attachments. You can be sure that new, the tractor was about $24-$25k with attachments.

If it has significant warranty left, you can transfer it with some paperwork and a fee of $50-$75, I believe. I would ask the owner if I could get the tractor inspected by a local NH dealer prior to making a final deal. That way you can establish yourself with the dealer and approach them about warranty transfer. If the person doesn't want the inspection, you have another tool to ask for a lower price. You might check with the dealer ahead of time to get an estimate of the cost of inspection and what you want them to check.

I found out that it has always been stored in doors and looks new. I assume I should look at the Serial Number and can perhaps find out more about when it was made etc., Any ideas?

Thanks
