Ok to show my ignorance a little here. I just bought a home made dual axle trailer to carry my little Kubota L3750. The weight on that is 3800 lbs or so. I am using my 1 ton Chevy to tow it. What I don't know is what the Torsion bar axles are mentioned in the post. I am learning from this discussion is how I should load the tractor to be able to load the tongue weight correctly.

Torsion axles do not use springs, shackles, equalizers and all that stuff that will break or wear
torsion axles have no maintenance at all,as far as suspension goes. do a search on torsion axles and I think you will be impressed

I did a search. Google sure is a time saver! That does sound like the ticket as far as suspension. I do believe this trailer is using leaf springs (oh no low tech suspension  ). Now I will just have to live with it. Next step is playing with proper loading. Thanks again.

The way I load my trailers, I look at truck and trailer angle and I put load on so rear of truck will drop down a little. Nothing fancy
