What is the Best Battery for L305DT

Greetings

I would like some input on what you all may feel would be the best replacement battery for my 1982 Kubota L305DT. Currently the battery I have is 5+ years old and it does not seem to fill out the tray as it should(looks small). It is a tractor battery that I purchased shortly after getting the machine. I do not use the machine often but seems after sitting for a while the last year or so it will need to be charged up.

So what is the best tractor battery these days for the $$$? A good warranty would be a plus as well.

I have had good luck with Deka AGM batteries, Absorbed Glass Mat batteries are more vibration resistant. the Deka AGM intimidator is
a great battery, but cost is close to $200.
Napa and others offer Tractor Batteries ,which are tougher and more vibration resistant than automotive batteries. most battery warranties are 2 to 3 year free replacement and no longer include prorated extended warranties. a battery maintainer is a good idea if the tractor sits a lot between uses.

I agree Deka makes a good AGM battery, they were OEM in my diesel mowers. That said, I am a fan of Optima Yellow Top AGM batteries, which have a low self discharge rate and tolerate sitting for extended periods of time. They aren't cheap though.
As far as the op's battery space remark, either measure the battery tray and height available and compare to a BCI chart, or look up the OEM battery size and go with that.

I 2nd that if you don't just use the OEM size. There is no big reason to use anything but a lead acid battery in a tractor. By far the best bang for the buck & will last as long as an AGM or SLA in a tractor. It's not like a lighter battery will improve the performance on a tractor like a sports car.

PILOON and Fallon's points X2 - My L245dt has an old AC Delco battery that I recycled from my truck because it was only putting out 450CCA instead of 600CCA as advertised. Works fine in the tractor for the last year.
