What is the best rotarycutter for my Mx5100 DT

I finally decided to buy the Kubota Mx5100 Dt with ind. tires, Fel, and 1 hydralic remote. I bought it for about $24,600. now im wondering which brushhog would be the best for me. I have to do some heavy cutting in some tight places and around trees. I was wondering what type of cutter to buy a 3pt or a pull type what would be the best for my situation?

I bought an L4400 last year and put a 6' Bush Hog Squealer 172 on it. It is perfect for that tractor. Your 5100 is only slightly bigger, a little heavier than mine, and only 5 more HP so it will handle the same size mower easily. You could probably go to a 7 foot mower due to slightly better hydraulics which would handle more weight.

If you are cutting heavy stuff in tight places, I'd definately get the three point set up as it is easier to maneuver around vs. the pull type. I've cut heavy multiflora rose bushes with mine, back into it cutting with the mower up, drop the mower, then re-cut it as you pull out forward. Does a good job on the heavy stuff.

I am completely satisfied with the Bush Hog.

I have a MX 5000 with a Rhino TW72 which is a pretty heavy duty 6 footer. I dont have a FEL or front weights and it is a bit heavy for my tractor. Since you have a FEL, you probably wouldnt have a problem. The tractor handles it very well with the exception of the weight issue.
I would definitely go with a three point shredder for the kind of work you describe.

My L4200 handles a 6" KingKutter Hod w/o a problem so you would be fine with a 6' with your machine, I would shy away from the 7' if I were you.
