looking to add a fel truck plow to my Kubota 5740- we get alot of heavy snow so what size blade should I get=Also where do I get a QA attatchment for the blade as i can not make one- I assume all I need is the blade and a frame as I will use the hydraulics from the FEL is this correct =thanks

From my research you want to cover your tracks when plow is angled. They say tracks plus about 12" will do it. Most threads say If you go much bigger tractor tends to get pushed around a bit. I guess it would depend on how much counterweight and traction you have.

You'll still need to fab & weld on some brackets (to the QA plate) for the plow pins.

I have the Frontier front blade 84". I added the hydraulics and works like a charm. You need to have hydraulics on the tractor to correspond with the hydraulics on the blade. Let me know if you have further questions.

I have to agree, I have the same blade (came with the hydraulic cylinders) it is a very good blade once you learn all the tricks to plowing with a FEL blade. I'm still learning but so far am impressed with the results.

I'd be looking either 7', 7.5', or 8' if you are going to make your own out of a truck plow. Those are the most common. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, any of those 3 sizes are a good fit, just whatever you find a good deal on.

Just for reference: I have a 8ft.FEL mounted plow on a L4240 HSTC.....Like LD1 said;they all will work .
I have loaded R1's and run a 7ft.rear blade also.My tractor handles this combo with no problem.

I have a 6 1/2' blade mounted on the arms. I don't have tires loaded or use any balast , and I have no problems. If the snow is wet and deep on angle I get pushed around some. My property is fairly level so that doesn't matter.
