What is the best wire fence stretcher

I need to buy a new barbwire fence - fence stretcher tool. I'd like to get one that lasts, usually the clamp gets slick, i'd like feedback thanks

I bought a stayrite chain stretcher this year . I really like it . I still have a golden rod that I use quite a bit too

The new fencing tools are crude at best (at least the ones I have seen and bought). Over the years I have aquired some antique stretchers and pliers and such that are far, far superior tools to anything new I have, especially when working on ancient wire fence (the clamps don't slip and they don't score the wire). I will have the old tools forever while the new ones get binned from time to time.

Keep your eyes peeled for the old stuff while you suffer with the new stuff.

When my fence stretcher clamps got worn and would not hold the wire, I used my dremel to cut new grooves. It holds now.
