Hi,
I own a 2001 TC25D and have noticed a small two pin black connector zip tied to the rops near the rear fender. It almost looks like a trailer connector but it has two pins instead of four. The parts guy at the dealer didn't know anything about it and mentioned something about a cigarette type plug which I don't have. Could this be an optional auxilary rear light connection? If so, what circuit does it run off of? What the fuse rating?

Should show in the wiring diagram. I suspect it is for a utility light, and works in conjunction with the headlight switch. (at least that was such with mine).
Plug a light into it and see what happens.

I've got the same year TC 33D. If I recall the connect is an UNSWITCHED power outlet. It's on anytime the ingition is on. If you add anything, you'll need to have some provision for switching it on and off (like a switch on the light you add). If you don't have access to a wiring diagram, You can verify the uswitched status of this by hooking a voltmeter (or any 12 V DC device) to it and see when it has power and when it doesn't.

Absolutely, John you got it right. My TC29D the connector is powered anytime the switch is on. And I have to remember to make sure it is unplugged when I hit my glow plugs or whamo, the main fuse gets hit.

Here is a picture of a TC29D with the New Holland work light installed. It has an on/off push button on top. The wires come through the rear fender.

Tazz,

Thanks much for the picture. I will need to check mine later in the week (need daylight) to see if I have the same connector. I can't tell from the picture - it looks like the light mounts on the ROPS vice the fender? If so - does NH provide an extension with the light to mount it higher on the bar? Finally - how much did the pair of work lights cost?

Thanks again.

The work light is mounted on the fender, the flashers are mounted on the ROPS. I think others have mounted lights on the ROPS though.

Tazz,

The New Holland one is pricey. If I remember right it was an $80.00 add for it. I did not like it as I wanted ones on the ROPS to help see at night with the loader on. I wished I had a picture for you but I bought some ground magnets and lights that I can set under the ROPS upside down. This way nothing can hit them and knock them off and I have the option of pointing one or two to the back if I wish. Works pretty good.

Good point - if it is a standard auto type connector then just about any light can be used. Thanks.
