what is the expected service life of a GX270 Honda

I didn't have feeler gauges, so I tightened them up some but tried making sure it's not overtightened.
Performance wise it had still been working fine so I can't really say anything

Just an update here, did my last oil change before the 9999.9hrs! Just crested 9800.0hrs and still going strong! But I now need to add a half liter of oil around the 150 to 200hr mark then I change around 250hrs

Well, we rolled the hour meter a while back and this thing is still going on minimal maintenance! 10360hrs and counting.....

I don't have anything Honda powered anymore (sold the 1100CC Goldwing years ago). My Craftsman 42" riding mower is powered by a B&S Intek 724CC V twin vertical shaft engine. I uses 5w-30 Mobil1 oil and Wix filter. It is 12 year old, original spark plugs, original everything except, it is on battery #2 (5 years old). The deck is original but has new spindles and one recent belt change and new tires.

Today's small engines are really very reliable if cared for.

The 2000 motorhome is Cat powered, the 2003 MF 231S is Perkins powered and the motorcycle is a 2001 BMW with a 1137CC boxer engine. None of these engine have ever had any failure. Filters, coolant and wear items are changed as needed. I had to replace the alternator bulb on the MF recently.

Even the Craftsman 4 stroke weed eaters get Mobil1. They start and run without issue.

Use the good stuff and all will be well.

Something running everyday on off-grid generator service or something like that, can rack up crazy hours in hurry. What consumer application would similarly rack up hours? The only Honda I have is on a sweeper that might see an hour a year! So, I'm not interested in how long it will last.
