At least it seems to be an "implement". Someone on another forum is striking out trying to identify this thing. Anone here?

I believe you put grain or straw or corn stocks in it to hold them to make something.

It's a grain thrasher and if the table is angled towards the single leg it would be for making cheese. They tumbled the octagonal handle across the cheese curd to remove the whey which would run out the end into a bucket.
