John Deere X530--John Deere 225GT
I have recently purchased an X530 John Deere garden tractor with hydro lift to replace my 225GT which is manual lift. I would like to know what would be the cheapest/best kind of lift hitch to look for that uses an electric activator maybe??? Also my 225 has a manual 48" snow blade and I would like to install a lift to get away from the shoulder problems I have at 71 years old. Will appreciate any help.. Thanks in advance______

:welcome:

Larry

The hitch you are asking about is for a front blade? And you want to use the blade from your 225GT?

I'd go with the blade and lift/hitch system available from Deere. Save the shoulders.

I'm not aware of the system you're referring to but when I asked about it at the dealership I was told that the blade for the 225 would not work on the 530 due to it being of the manual type......

Deere claims to have a
54-inch Quick-Hitch Front Blade

That would be the ticket for you.

I agree that the blade for the 225 would not work directly, but likely could be adapted to the quick hitch with some measuring, designing, and fabrication. That said, I'd go with the attachment that can simply be ordered and be ready to go.

The 54" quick hitch blad is for the X700 series. Take a look at JD's 48" that is for the X500 series. Good luck.

Guys, thanks for the quick response's really but, the dent in my funds after the tractor purchase put the nix on the 54" blade as well as the 48'' that's made for the tractor, at least for the near future. I may have a friend that can help me out if the old one can be modified to fit, it's still in perfect condition. I've also been told there is an electric assist sleeve type hitch that mounts to the front of the frame that might work. Any ideas or info?.........lg

Tell us more about where you heard about the electric assist hitch.

There are electric linear actuators that are 12 volt. See them in Surplus Center
surpluscenter.com

Maybe the are what you want.

Would like to hear more about the lift that comes with your new JD X530.

Google linear actuators along with checking out such places as Surplus Center to learn the various sizes.
Here is a look at the hitch that comes with the blade on the X530

Beenthere----

You did me well and I really appreciate it. After seeing the hitch drawing you sent me, I realize the direction I should have taken in my search for an answer. I appoligize for all the trouble that you've been to in order to get this to me and I thank you for your time and effort.

My plan is to be in-route to my dealership next date AM to get this squared away. Thanks again my friend and take care...........lg
