what kind of insurance?

HELLO,
My wife went to the insurance agent today,got no answers yet.I want to be insured when i haul a friends atv,in case i lose it,my tractor when i haul it,or if i haul a buddys car etc...HAULING INSURANCE,does any one know what i could get?On an atv forum i frequent,a poster pointed out,even though my buddy may have insurance on his atv,the company could come after me for liability if i lose it off.my company said my liability would cover the damage done say if it hits someone,but not what im hauling.I want coverage similar to what a tow truck probably has,but for a home owner.I dont have insurance on my tractor,only time i feel its in harms way is when i trailer.The agent said i could insure my trailer,but it would cover only that,a far cry of what they told me 10 years ago,ive been not insured for friends propertys.ANY THOUGHTS.

You're negotiating a minefield here. Even though you're trying do a good deed, what you describe may place you into the commercial category. Sept 11 cost insurance companies a LOT of money which they are now recovering any way they can.
This is one big reason why I am no longer self employed... my General Liability policy jumped from $265, to around $1600.

Find an insurance agent you can trust; and don't scimp on the coverage. Even more importantly only haul for friends you can trust, and let them tie their machines down using their own straps, so that if anything goes wrong they share the liability.

It's sad that it comes to this, but that's the world we live in today.
