The only lift I've seen the inside of had a large chain inside that rotated the lift arms. I know this is likely no help for your setup, I wanted to subscribe and learn. Best of luck with it!
Most 3pt cylinders are inside the rear end housing, and the there is usually a feed going into the case for the 3pt and the fluid out of the 3pt cyl just drops into the tank.
You are not showing the rockshaft where the piston is. In picture 4 I see the piston rod and when you put the rockshaft back on it well you have to put it in the piston. Are you asking what turns the pump?
J-J: i didnt show the rams because they look to be just a winch type of cylinder without any hydraulics attached.
Leejohn: here is a pic of the sump cover removed.
the question is really.. what moves the arms coming from the sump that lift the 3pt? it isn't hydraulic rams.. what moves that piston in and out?
Ok. Let a newbie answer. So, the rockshaft had two mounting points to mount #2 in the above pic, since they broke off I bored them out. I also wanted to make sure, now looking inside the rockshaft there is a small hole. that leads up a chamber to a piston that i removed (pic)
through a top screw i drilled a hole to throw a pressure washer stream through - to make sure nothing was gunked.
i shot the water through the top hole and the water came out where the piston was removed (on both sides).
i plugged the piston holes, and out shot a rocket. that looked like this coming out.
this is the hydraulic system that pushes the main piston rod that is attached to the arms that lower and raise the 3 pt.
should i be concerned that there is a broken seal here?
