What made the sale?

I just purchased my first tractor ( Cub 3235) after many days of researching many models and visits to many different dealers. What sold me was the direct drive shaft the Cub offered compared to the belt drive system of the compeditors. I'm hoping I made the right choice in lawn tractors because I want it to be around a long time--Maybe out last me /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif What have others got sold on?

Frank, my Cub is about 12 years old, I bought if for 2 reasons, #1 was the shaft drive and its ability to pull the tractor up a steep hill while powering the mower deck when some of belt drive competitors would not #2 was the dealership and the friendly people who took real time to explain things to me. They let me try anything and everything, and actually talked me out of a new tractor and into a barely used trade in at a great price.

Thank's for the reinsurance Bob. I also got that tractor for my hilly terrain. The 25hp and rear axle lock feature was <font color="red"> </font> certainly a +.

I've had my 2145 for about 13 years and the shaft drive DEFINITELY factored into the decision as did the hydrostatic drive since my lawn is an "obstacle course."

The other part of the decision was the power per cut width and I found a very good dealer with good pricing that seemed to be better than the competing brands.

I have not regretted it. The mower still runs well, but needs a new deck.

I just bought a Z-Force 48, but will keep the 2145 around as a back up and for some of the rougher work around the place.

Congradulations on the new tractor! I've been looking at the 2500 series. I think I'll wait on the '05s since I don't really need it until next spring. What did you pay for it?

I think the Cub 3000 series are great machines. They are tough and hold up well IMO. I have some action shots posted somewhere in this board ( I think?)

We also just got a new 3235 with a 54"mmd. The little time I have had to use it I"m sure impressed. We have also a 1450 Cub Cadet & was the reason for getting the 3235 with Hyd lift & power steering. The mower deck sure sherds the leafs up. Good luck with yours. Mike

I saw your post, hope you don't mind my buttin in. I just paid $4000.00 + tax for a new GT 2518-48. I think its gonna be just fine. And if anyone is wondering the "no mow in reverse feature "can be defeated.
