I took a look at your other thread, the $500 Jinma. This YM2700 is ten times the tractor compared to that poor Jinma.
Yanmar builds stuff that will run forever, given minimal maintenance. Look it over. I expect you won't find any serious problems like that Jinma even though its twice the age.
But don't pay too much for it. Hoye says this is one of the models that never had broad parts support here in the US so if you eventually run it out of oil etc it might be a throwaway at that point.

it deffinitly looks like it has some unique parts to it. maybe shared with a JB but not many i bet
Hey California,long time since I heard from you.I have had 2 yanmars a 2000b and 1700,both good tractors.I ended up selling them both to neigbors.
The 2700 I found has rod knock,don't know what it's worth.I know it is an oddball.
I buy and repair small tractors of all type for supplemental income on farm.Mine are all farm tested,farm approved before I sell them.Already have guy interrested in little jinma/loader.
It's harder to sell these little tractors now due to them zero turn mowers.

I've seen 2200's, and Hoye says 2700 is approximately the same thing. It's clear that these are a parallel and unlike series.
Quality is at least as good as the familiar YM models, and I think these are heavier. It's just that there isn't much interchange of components from this series, to the family of common YM's that have the exhaust on the right side.
If the 2700 really has a rod knock I would be real careful to not pay much for it. Per Hoye's advice you might have to wait a year for a used rod from Zimbabwe or some place.
Danny Parker (Parker Equipment Company) used to post responses about this model long ago. And I think he's in your part of the US. He might possibly be a resource if you need something.

I did notice that the 2700 on CL. doesn't have a Starter. I looked hard and I don't believe it's there. My bet it don't run. For the asking price with the Imp. included reflects it.

Not sure danny is fooling with any yanmar stuff anymore.. I haven't seen him on here since the yanmar lawsuit thing.. I think he was a party in that suit
