Well you got me on that one. I know next to nothing or perhaps less about fruit grove farming.
I have been involved with row crop farming and with a couple of different types of livestock farming.
At times in some of this while working a full time job in addition to farming. And a bit of haying also.
Between the various things needing to be done, I frequently worked as many or more hours farming as I did the other job. And always more hours at harvest time on crops. Even in off seasons there was plenty to keep one busy.
This is the swivel stump jumper blades on what I am calling a rotary mower. Tough as nails. RCR12 Series Rotary Cutters | Land Pride
I've run a Howse 4 ft rotary mower since 2004. Its still in good condition. I've changed the fluid (90 wt) a couple of times, and found it was contaminated with water. I'm 10 miles inland from the ocean so rust from salt air is common here. But without going out to look at the mower, I don't recall rust or at least any more than everything else here. There wasn't any when it was new.California,
For a smaller YM-Series machine, the L-48-40-P-FH would do the job just fine. And it does have the chains to keep the flying stuff from shooting out so hard.

Now, other than the functionality of the KK vs. LP, the KK really LACKS in primer and paint quality. No matter where you shop to pick up a KK, it's already with a few surface rust marks. I have 3 KK attachment/implements. Cost & function won for the purchase more so than the paint and primer.
AND YES ... an OVERRUN CLUTCH is required.
Winston, I've looked at the Land Pride and then went with the King Kutter. Not only 10 gauge thick steel, but wider blades too. The stump hopper on the KK is by far superior than the Land Pride. The 3PT connection has jounce pivots to allow the entire deck to self raise when hitting a stump or log or huge boulder. After passing, the deck returns back to the original level the 3PT is set to. The LP only has the top-link swivel and not the lower arm jounces like the KK has. KK calls this the FLEX HITCH system.
