What name (& why) did you give your tractor?

Probably going to regret starting this one.
What do you call you tractor and why?
We call ours Bozilla. This name is derived from the across the ocean of origin and references the Godzilla's ability to tear up the neighbourbook.
We call our 62 chevy 2 ton Hank, wife says he looks like one.
2001 Pt Cruiser is Gizmo
2001 Quad Cab is Blackula

The wife, being the creative person she is names them all.

I think that's because when we met, I had a dog named Dog.

Are you sure your BX is from Japan? Many are from Georgia. Mine is from Osaka. I call it the Bota-constrictor!, as with each bounce of the seat, the seat belt ratchets another 1/2" off my waist. It's like a big orange deisel bear hug!

When showing my brochures to an acqaintance while tractor-shopping, he said "Oh, you're gonna get a BABY tractor(JD4700"!). (He was an old farmboy raised with 8-wheel monsters)

I had already planned some modifications, and replied "Well, when I get finished with it , it will be at least a SUPERBABY."

During the months that followed , as my tractor was at the dealer's being worked on, he kept asking how my "Superbaby" was coming. And now that it's home, he IS impressed /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif.

So, nothing else would seem right! ..."SUPERBABY" it is! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Clementine, because she's orange and from the South (Carver Eq). Although a Japanese associate of mine has trouble pronouncing the name, so she now answers to Crem, short for Clem.

As for the dogs, we have so many (being actively involved in retriever rescue) that we simply take them to the state liquor store and match the color to a bottle: Molson, Killians Red, Tetley, Glenfiddich, Talisker, McCallan, etc.

I've never named my tractor -- nor have I ever named a car, regardless of how much I may have loved it. I do have pet names for my wife, my children, my grandchildren and even my pets (and even me, 'huck' is a pseudonym) but never for a tractor.

Don't get me wrong. I love my tractor. I'm just not so attached to it that I'd give it a name -- but the best name I've heard for it (and something that shows how attached to it I am) is the "Bota Constrictor."

We name all our vehicles, and Lucy is no exception. The way we come up with the name is variable, we just sort of "let it happen". When the name seems right, it sticks.

Lucy seemed to be the right name because she's a "redhead".

However, Lucy has an alter-ego. She becomes Mow-Zilla when I swap out the boxblade and mount the rotary mower. In fact, one neighbor that I've helped with his fire break a couple of times refers to her always as Mow-Zilla.

As I told Marion once after she made some disparinging remark on "it's" being ugly, I said "His name is Brutus and he has feelings". We both laughed.

Brutus is the name. Big, crude, rough & tough. Absolutely no finesse, simple overkill. Just like Popeyes nemesis.

Tractor's name is Scout, taken from the tomboyish girl in "To kill a mockingbird". Wanted a girl's name that at the same time had an adventurious, ready for anything side to it.

Haven't named a tractor yet but my kids refer to my pickup as "Belle" because she's "one beauty of a beast"
