Excuse the rant but hear me out.
I'm far from expert on anything tractor related. But in forty yrs of using quick disconnects I never needed 90 degree C clip pliers and vice grips to use them.
I wanted to disconnect my rear hydraulics because the previous owner had 2 of the 3 functions plumbed wrong. Normally no big deal right.
Just unplug and re-plug the hoses. Well > meet kubota's better idea. MX5200 Kubota put the couplers in a tube and secured them there with a recessed c clip that is
located in hole accessible only by special 90º C clip pliers. Attached to really short hoses. So short you could barely pull the connector out of the tube let alone operate it ! I mean really? Whoever designed this never changed rear attachments twice in a day.
Whoever designed this needs to be taken to the woodshed. They literally took the quick out of the quick disconnect. Aweful! Why would you but QA attachment hardware in front and do this to the rear!?
Idiots. Okay - rant over.
I'll fix it. I need easy access quick change hoses for the rear. My first thought is to go to the hydraulic hose store and ask those guys to make me up some male to female quick change adapters. which I can install in the 4 ports that need to be disconnected to remove the gannon tilt and rippers.

Isn't that the style of quick disconnects where you push in and then pull out quickly to disconnect? Should be if I'm not mistaken. There shouldn't be no need for any tools and you don't need to push/pull any collars with that setup.

Don't get me wrong, but reading the manual on this one may be a good thing.

All the Kubota's I've ever owned had the push in / pull out style connectors described by ptsg above. This includes my current MX5800.

I'm not sure what you mean by "plumbed wrong" but you can remove the connector housing from it's mount and switch hoses without having to remove the individual connectors.

Now please apologize to Kubota for that rant. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

As above posters mentioned.....

The housing that the female coupler is c-clipped in.....is designed to hold the sleeve of the coupler so your hand dont have to. You do NOT need to remove that clip to hook/unhook a hose. ONLY to replace a coupler if defective.

So this is just operator error. Push to connect, pull the hose to disconnect.

Report back once you figure out how simple it is

Okay will do ! Would love to be wrong here.
The previous owner bought the tractor new - told me about removing the C clips.
Plumbed wrong meant lever up was function down and tallest lever was least used function... etc.
I hope you all are right but, gee I feel so foolish now

OH MY GAWD! I'm so glad you guys are right.
I was fed some bad information and I took it for truth. I have never seen an easier system. So embarrassed!
Thank you. Thank you for setting me straight. I should have known it would not be that hard.
Obviously I'll be coming back with any questions I might have before assuming the worst again.

That's great news.

And Incase you didn't know....the purpose of it....is for breakaway.

Let's say whatever you are hooked to using the remotes (like a disc or bushhog that has hydraulic wheels) and you loose a hitch pin or break something......

Or even forgetting to unhook hydraulic hoses when swapping implements......

You can drive off and the couplers will just unhook themselves rather than snap your hoses in half

Hey, we all make mistakes. Sharing information is what this forum is all about. Glad it worked out!

Don't feel bad we've all been there. My kid called me last week all frustrated and ready to give his JD rep the "what to" when he couldn't get his 3PH implement to lower. He was glad that I told him about the adjustment knob under the seat for 3PH - he must have thanked me 20 times.....I said just pass something on to another tractor owner someday.

That's what we do....share and pass on what we know and have learned.
