What size box blade?

I致e been trying to acquire some implements for my L2900...preferably used.
I have a line on a box blade, which Inthought might be nice for general earthmoving, some driveway dressing, and ballast in general.
However the ONLY lightly used box blade that痴 within driving distance is 48 inches. Considering the L2900 has a wider span, is a 48-incher just too small to be worth it? Should I be holding out for a 60?

48" is kind of small. I ran a 60 Gannon rollover BB on my B21 - that WAS a lot of BB for that tractor, but she handled it well and the BB was very useful on my mile of very steep mountain dirt road. My personal opinion is a BB should be close to as wide as the rear tires on the tractor.

I have a Bush Hog 720 ROBB(roll over box blade). Its almost as wide as my rear tires - - tires=80" ROBB= 72". I could have obtained an 84" box blade - to cover the width of my rear tires - but have found that the 72" is just fine.

Just a note - the box blade and rear blade DO have a required learning curve - as far as driveway maintenance. A hydraulic top link will be of great help in controlling either implement. The land plane grading scraper(LPGS) has almost zero learning curve and does a great job of smoothing the driveway.

I know the land plane scrapers are the cat’s meow for driveways, etc.....the trick is to find one.
I swear, Canada is a giant wasteland when it comes to finding and buying used iron. Or new, truth be told.

Well - the trickle down effect brings that giant wasteland into Ea WA also. Thirty six(36) years here and the one hope was a tractor with a sickle bar cutter. It was over in Idaho and when I got there - it was so old - it was being purchased by some tractor display museum in the mid-west.

I've given up looking for used - long ago. If there IS something - you need a 500hp tractor to pull it.
