Kubota L3130
Kubota L3130? It has a FEL if weight is an issue. (4x4 and gear shift).
I would like to use a double gang 6' so I could cover my tire width but perhaps that is too much? Have about 4 acres at most to maintain and plant a few times a year.
I just bought a new rotary kutter and box blade so the harrows are the last immediate thing I "need".
A friend has a set of Howse (unsure of model, he says they are 20/20 but I don't see any 20/20's on Howse's site) barely used he'd like to sell and they are 6'.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Six foot should not be a problem for it to pull. The loader should be more then enough front ballast.

Your L3130 will not have any problems with a 6 footer.

I pull an old 5-footer behind a 2210 (18 pto HP) in a sandy-clay loam. It's probably too much for the tractor, but it works. With a couple cinder blocks and misc. rocks on top I can't take a very aggressive bite in high gear.

Low gear pulls any setting, but it's slow, and I'll lose traction if the r4's clog up. It's probably too much for the tractor, but I'm thinking 5 more HP would keep me in high gear... so 6 footer shouldn't give you any problem.

I had a set of Tufflines 20-22's (cost about 1800 new) and sold them last year. They weighed about 1100# and worked great in some areas, but only rolled over the top of the ground in most areas. I could fold them in half, and have all the weight over the front 10 discs. This really didn't help any. BTW I am using a M5400 (54hp). I bought a 7 shank chisel and love it (bought it used for $275). It does so much more than the disc. (I know around here they call a disc a harrow and a chisel a spring tooth plow.) It can pull very hard when busting up some clay.

My farm is about 80 miles east of Atlanta and is heavy clay. If you have sand or nice black topsoil, then I am sure the disc would work better. I don't know what size to recommend though.

Hope this helps.

He has a spring tooth for sale as well. Surprised to hear the 1100# didn't cut better. It did that regardless of disc angle?
Thanks for the info.
