Can you guys give me some advice on what size disc harrow to use with a Kubota L2800. I would really like to be able to pull a 6 foot harrow but I think that a 5 foot harrow will be the way to go. I'm worried about getting good traction with a 6 foot. Thanks.

Ga Kub - I pull a 4' wide x 8' long Fuerst harrow behind my B7500 (21HP engine, turf tires) while mowing the pasture with a 5' MMM - no problem! I would like to have a 5' wide harrow to match the MMM cut, but haven't found any. I may have to go to a 6' wide. You may also have to choose between 4' and 6' wide. If you find a source for 5' wide, please let me know.

I pull a two gang 7' disc plow with my 1951 CASE VAC tricycle,ag tires, has continental 4 cylinder, about 15 HP. Horse power is not as big an issue as one might think in selecting the proper disc. Tires (traction) ,weights, gear selection, and soil conditions are the factors.

Hey, That tractor, Case 2 disc plow, Case sickle mower and Case 7 ft tandem drag type disc was my dads first tractor outfit. Seems like he paid either $1200 or $1500 for all of it new. It was also the tractor I later learned to drive on. Brings back old memories. Ken Sweet

Yup, first gear on my CASE VAC,has never bogged down. Its always traction or poppin a wheely that is the limiting factor. If I had enough traction,my CASE VAC could climb a telephone pole.

I pull a 5 1/2 foot KK box frame disc with my JD 790. It does a pretty fair job of pulling the disc....but I would not want a wider one for my purposes.

So much depends on soil types and the weight of the tractor as well as how deep you want to till the ground.....but in my sandy loam soils.....If I set the disc real aggressive I'm going to be struggling at times.....especially if doing a second pass. Plenty of power...but the tractor will spin. (yes, I have fluid added and ag tires too)

I am happy with my disc after getting it figured out....but I would not want a wider one.....and I think your tractor has similar power and weight.

my .02 cents
