What size of finishing mower can I use on my MT372?

Hello I need some help on figuring out what size of finishing mower to get for my MT372, I have 2.5 acres and it really takes forever and I seen alot of people on here have 372's so what size should I use without killing the tractor? So I ask please help me out and also what speed for the PTO should I use when mowing? Thank you!

I would definitely go with a 4-footer. I have a five-footer on my S470d Buck (It's just a little bit bigger, little more HP than a Beaver), and it's just too much for that tractor. Part of that is this mower's weight....it's very, very heavy, and does not have front guide wheels, so the front of the mower hangs on the back of the tractor with check chains. It's possible that you could run a 5-footer that has four guide wheels, but that's still a lot of mower for your tractor. The footprint on the 5-foot mower is much larger than the tire track, so I wind up mowing over stuff I've already mowed, anyway. The mower was bought with the tractor some 30 years ago, and came with it when I bought them a couple years ago. I would've matched it with a 4-footer Woods finish mower or something like that.

Does the 372 have clockwise PTO? 'twas a bit frustrating with the S370 in that we have CCW PTO.

FWIW, we ran a Woods 42" rotary mower, was sized about rigght but if you don't have a loader you need weight up front.

Now I wish somebody needed one.

I have a satoh s370D. I would recomend a 4 ft or a 5 ft wide finish mower. I use a 5 ft and it is heavy. I mowed tall grass with my 4ft brush hog then went over it with my 5 ft king kutter side discharge finish mower on the high setting and the tractor did fine. I wouldn't want to mow tall grass with it but to maintain it is a wonder. Loud. Sounds like a helicopter is in the back seat.

I have a 470D Buck and I use a 4' Kubota Finishing mower that has front and rear wheels and a 4' Bushog Squealer. They do well with the Buck. I don't think I would go over 4' on your tractor.

I would stay with 4ft. also. My Bh is only 42" and it does very well.

I just picked up a rm59 CCW woods mower for my S370D. It was on a Kubota B6000e (CCW) with only 12.5 hp gross motor and the guy claimed it did ok.. As long as I'm not trying to cut high grass, it should be fine. I'll report back after I get the deck restored and up and running again.
