Lots of good info!
As for property size close to a single acre, but there's brush on the property that I maintain paths into so I can dump old useless lumber, dead grass and other things to decay. There's a few paths I need to reclaim with a backhoe, plus at least five other jobs that would be made doable or easier with a backhoe with a thumb. I also plan on doing less heavy lifting than I used to, as I just recovered from a fairly serious back injury. (The bane of being young and thinking "I can do that.") Which means less wheelbarrowing, and more if letting a machine do the work for me.
I wouldn't be doing any mowing with it, as I'd be keeping my JD Sabre.
As for business use, ideally the things I'd be doing is snow removal, grading soil and gravel, trenching for power lines and digging for planting, posts and shed/garage slabs. As it comes for business, I'd need something that can bomb around the roads and streets as my current truck isn't up to task to towing anything more than a few thousand pounds. If/when business picks up, I'd invest in a proper truck and trailer though.
A lot to ask, I know, and I'm not expecting anyone to say "buy model X", moreso pointing me in the right direction so I can make a more educated decision.
