Don,
Sounds like we're in similar situations, so I'll pitch in some ideas:
-keep altitude in mind with regards to HP--one dealer suggested the GST on the 3010, saying the HST, especially at 6500-7000 feet, starts to approach "underpowered." He then went on to recommend both the 2710 and 2910, even though those have smaller engines--maybe HST uses more power in the 3010??
-fitting a loader into a barn stall is easier as you get smaller(also does less damage if you hit a wall)
-mowing fields is faster/easier as you get bigger
-will the tractor fit in it's designated storage building, and underneath the scrub oak
-ultimately, you might learn the most by demo-ing your possibles on YOUR property, in YOUR barn, and around YOUR scrub oak,.....
I ended up with a 2710. My brother(also in CO), ended up with a JD4400 for a 36 acre parcel, and thinks it's the cat's pajamas.
Where are you in CO? My wife & I grew up in Colorado Springs, and will be moving back there in July.
Good Luck,
Tom
