I'd like a 16' Hyd tilt bed deck over at least 7' wideI'm in the market for a trailer to haul my B7510 with FEL and Back Hoe I was thinking a 16' would work fine any suggestions I'm limited as I only have a Dakota with the v8 to pull with??
With a winch for my BX23 and inport pick ups.
What ever you do get a trailer with brakes on all 4 wheels.
I've been told and read on TBN over and over again I need at least a 3/4 ton pick up for a tow vehicle.
To bad I can't use this litte gray Dodge D50 import .
If I could I'd just get a trailer and be in business.

7K tandem car hauler would do just fine. You might have issue with the BH during loading so that will be your deciding factor on what kind. I would think a tilt deck is most friendly to BH's. A neighbor of mine has a real nice drop axle tilt made by Moritz for his CUT.

I agree, 7000 lb car hauler. With your B on it, that will be about all your Dakota will haul, but you should be O.K. if you have a good hitch and trailer brakes. I think what people are worried about is your back hoe hitting the ground as you drive on the trailer. I don't know how much of an issue that is.

7k trailer at the least.If you are doing this as a business , a 10k trailer is a better option. If you going to use your dakota, just add weight distrubution bars, will help alot with that little truck of yours. Adding a sway bar is nice , but can do without it if you drive it easy and dont do alot of highway driving. The big rigs sure can make your towing uncomfortable when they try to pass you. adding swaybars is a good idea due to dakota short wheelbase. You can always use what you got then when time is right, upgrade your vehicle.

yup - that little 4 cylinder engine wont cut it.
but a hyd tilt bed ? you sure like to go all out do you ?

What is the difference between a drop axle and a deck over?
*I'm not sure about this Especially since I've been told that I need a 3/4 ton for my 2500 pound BX23 which is considerably less than 3800 pounds.
If a mid sized Dodge Dakota can handle 3800 pounds
My import Dodge D50 pick up should be able to handle my 2500 pound BX23 Right?

LBrown, it will probably physically move it, but I would think such things as axles, drive shafts, transmission, rear end and such would not be built to take that kind of load. My trailer and BX2350, with an endloader and rear blade on it probably weigh between 4000 and 5000 pounds. BTW, you don't need a 3/4 ton truck. Mine is rated to tow 8500 lbs, and it is a 1/2 ton, full sized Dodge Ram.
