What spare parts are a good idea to keep on hand?

Brand new Bobcat T770 skidsteer and E50 mini ex. As a self proclaimed prepper further concreted by recent covid supply chain shortages, I'd like to have a reasonable stock of commonly needed spare parts and maintenance items on hand. Looking for suggestions on what you think I should order.

So far the givens are:

Fuel filters
Oil filters
Hydraulic fluid filters
Engine oil
Hydraulic oil
DEF fluid
Diesel
Grease


Anything else maintenance related or prone to wear/failure would be appreciated

I keep everything you have listed - minus DEF fluid. Don't forget engine air filters. Be sure you have sufficient tools to tighten every nut/bolt that is found on your new equipment. New equipment will almost always need something checked or tightened.

AND - lots of paper towels and shop rags. Equipment maintenance can get "greasy".

If you're using hydraulic attachments, like a thumb on the mini ex or a grapple on the skidsteer, maybe get a spare set of hoses since those are a bit more vulnerable on a machine.

Just ask about the varied types & weights of oils {the list gets long}
Extra chain saw chains
Vinyl/Acrylic gloves
2 different types of grease {Different applications}
Windex AND Rain-X, {Cause the Mrs. likes it on her ride}
I spread liquid & granular ferts/weed killers & bug killers {Yeah, a fly system in the barn, too}
So the list just got exponential
Pounds & pounds and pounds of nuts, washers, screws & bolts because when I'm working you can lose half a day chasing after a
bolt that just reamed itself into a housing. Then, there's the deified coffee can/cans of mixed nuts, bolts & screws waiting for an application.

Then, we get into neighbors' various needs.
I know a lot of us have those kind of neighbors that come whimpering into the shop with a broken
this or that. Whining over their "emergency".
"Can you please help or could you find time to fix this, sharpen that?"
Yeah, I'll admit to keeping a few things hidden away that will bring a rainbow into their day.
I'm surrounded by widows, single Mom's & simple folk on limited funds.

I roll a bit with ptsg here.

Given my history... I don't have a set of hoses, but rather, I have chosen three specific hoses for my loader/backhoe and I have one of each. I figure the odds are that I won't blow a pair of the same hose (right/left) so no need for two of them....I can get one to get me by until I can get one made.

I agree with your list of "service" items including an excess of various fluids (oil types).

As for "parts". Whatever you stock you'll never need. So pick the items you hope you never need to replace and stock those. (joking)

No one mentioned belts. Fan, alternator, A/C compressor belts. Engine coolant.
