Brad, even with the English menu down there, I wondered whether we'd recognize anything or not. And as for the menus, that's the reason I usually avoid Italian restaurants; I like the food just fine but never know what I'm ordering. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yea, Bird, I'll bet there are differences. I guess its "Tex-Mex" that I really like. There is a restaurant near me in Tioga, TX that is called a "Spanish" restaurant, but it is real good Tex-Mex. Pretty near Clarks BBQ.

Back in the mid ‘70’s, I had this unusual “burrito” taste … cheddar cheese piled high and chopped onions, rolled with a flour tortilla at the famous Taco Bell in Imperial Beach, CA… (and nothing else /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)

One thing for sure… people would have “very short” and far away conversations with ya… /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

(My wife is Russian... but I love all kinds of Mexican food! YUM...)

Central ohio is getting a lot of mexicans in the last few year. This has spun off some really go mexican restraunts. They are not in the best parts of town and decor is crap but food is great and price can be beat. Heck One place has imported from mexico pepsi. Hows that for authentic!

We have a little store a couple miles from the house that everyone calls the mexican store, not because of the folks who run it, although they are from mexico but it is one of the few places you can still buy sodas in the long neck bottle, from mexico, and any kind of mexican candy you can thing of not to mention burritos and tamales from the hot case.

Well Cindi, I went through your Pancho's list and found 8 different ones that I had eaten at. So I guess you could say I like Pancho's - and I do. However I really wouldn't classify it as "great" TexMex. For that you need to go to Ninfa's or Pappisito's in Houston, Tia Rosa in Katy, or for a quick treat there's always Taco Cabana (most street corners in Texas). Then of course there is the San Antonio Riverwalk - GREAT food everywhere. And for a final taste sensation, there's always moma's enchiladas! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm not so sure Pancho's is GREAT tex mex, but I can tell you that I had to be rolled out of there everytime I ate there.

I used to go to the one in Austin, but I think they closed it now.
