I also use the 24 hour feature. Only posts that have had activity in the past 24 hours pop up.I never pay attention to which tractor color it might have been posted in. So many of the posts are generic anyways. Every time I log on, there are tpically 190-210 posts from the past 24 hours. I scan the subjects and maybe open a dozen or so out of the 200. The rest I ignore.

I have probably posted replies in other color forums. I never noticed that and will not bother to look in the future either.
I also use the link near the top fo the screen "Show me threads in the last 24 hours" I scan the topics and read based on that. I hardly ever look to see what forum they are in.

Thanks, that explains a lot. I was not aware of the other ways to use the forum, (only was logging in to check MF stuff). I also did not consider that there were people that owned multiple brands.
It has been mostly MF talk here as long as I have been here, with occasionally the "other guys" posting, and yes, sometimes jabbing. This gave me the impression that they stopping by, but hanging out some where else. I have not noticed in the past as many of the "other guys posts" as there have been in the Massy forum lately, prompting the question.

I usually check the Massey board first but then use the "since my last visit" to check for other topics that may interest me. I really don't care which forum it is in, if I feel that I can add some value with a response I do it.

If I read between the lines I think the main issue is when people on a forum (of any color) are discussing concerns or problems with their model they don't like it when others reply about how theirs is better because of this or that. Why would we want to hear that.

Lets say that I am having problems taking my backhoe off/on and start a thread asking advice from others. I would rather someone tell me that its easy and I'm just stupid rather than say that they have two tractors (one they never take the hoe off of and the other for 3 point implements).

I may be wrong about the reason for the thread.

Nonetheless, no matter what the color, most of us have one thing in common, we love and own tractors. Honestly, I have learned more about tractors from forums other than the Massey forum.

As several other have said, I use the "Since My Last Visit" feature and read any thread that sounds to be of interest and sometimes respond if I think iI have anything to add. There really are many topics that are so generic in nature they could be posted on any color forum and would have the same validity.

No matter whether it is a tractor Internet forum of any color or a widget forum there will always be posters who do not understand there is a difference between "having something to say" and "having to say something" regardless of their knowledge of the subject or obvious lack thereof.

There is an "IGNORE" function that some individuals may find useful to eliminate for those few posters who seem particularly annoying.

I have a RED 60" power angle MF snow blade on my RED Honda 6522and drive by the MF store regularly, so feel I'm not a total party crasher.:)

I use the 24 hr approach too!

I look at it this way color doesn't mean much the idea or project or thread title grabs me I look at it.

I usually hit my last visit once a week so it doesn't get too big I just did it and it was only 800 hits.

These are help forums - not a clique devoted to "one color."

The idea is to provide help to other people no matter what piece of equipment or manufacturer they own.

I personally get real tired of people who buy xxx, instead of yyyy - and use the "high cost of xxx color paint" - as self-justification for the piece of equipment they've purchased. A comment that continually runs across a number of forums. I figure you just need to be satisfied with what you have no matter what color it is. Seems real easy to me, and doesn't involve calling into question other people's choices.

Swine's did you read any of the posts made here? Seems like you didn't.

Usually, when I log onto the TBN forums, I do like Eddie and the others. I hit the "Recent Threads 24 hours" or "Since Last Visit". Although I have not posted in the red forum, I like to read and post in them all. There's a lot of good general tractor info hidden within some of the specialized forums and I have stumbled across some good nuggets doing it this way...info I would have missed otherwise.

Really good features...24 Hours and Last Visit!

That is a good one. I also try to help people no matter the color that chose. That is one of the reasons that I use the 24 hour button.
The one thing that really gets me is the one where, if the metal is thick enough that you can't see through it, then is automatically inferior. The thinner it is the higher quality the metal is automatically.

Yes, I understand that now. As I said; I was logging on to the MF forum and was not ware that people were viewing the threads & posts by way of the last 24hrs. button. In the past most of the posts were MF owners and I mistakenly thought we were here alone. It is true that many of the others have good things to offer, and I will from time to time take advantage of that but, I was logging on to find out about MF stuff from MF owners therefore it was curious to me that there were other owners here. I now know that everyone is here. I hope this matter is finally cleared up.
