What tire pressure R U running?

I loaded my 17.5-24 R4s about 40% full today. I aired them up to about 18psi. I noticed the book calls for 20psi. Is this considered a max. pressure, and if so, what is considered a min. pressure? I've read recently about a guy running 9psi. I'm not sure what kind of tractor or what tires he had.

I asked the Titan tire technical service rep a similar question. I was told to run the R4s on my B21 at exactly the number specified in the manual. I'm not sure what size tractor you have. If you have a backhoe, it is imperative that the tires are correctly inflated because of the pressure exerted on them when digging. If they are underinflated, you can develop a bubble on the sidewalls of the tires.
By the way, the Titan tire customer service was excellent. And, their web site was helpful too.

I used to run 8 lbs on my ag's until one day, when I was doing some fel work in some muck, both rear tires got a little deep and spun on the rim. Not a pretty sight. Brought the pressure up to 18 and never had to worry again. (keeping my fingers crossed /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I can tell you from experience that R4s of that size, filled, at 20 degrees F, with 1000# on the 3pt, really ought to have at least 12 psi.

Mine had 12 psi at about 40 degrees F but went down to less than 10 psi when the temp. dropped. That's when one of them spun as soon as I picked up the load on the 3 pt. I now run between 14 and 18 psi in both R1s and R4s.
