WHAT TO BUY? MF2625 OR A JD5103 FWD?

I NEED TO BUY A TRACTOR AND HAVE NARROWED IT DOWN TO THESE TWO. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. IM GOING TO USE THE TRACTOR TO MOVE AROUND A 3 INCH REEL THAT HAS TO PULLED OUT 300 FEET.

I don't like the drive shaft for the MF 4WD. It runs down the side of the tractor. They say it's so they can keep the tractor lower. But I don't like the way it looks.

MF2625 seems to be a little bit bigger tractor based on specs. 5103 is a simple tractor that should prove to be very durable. 2625 will have more HP and capacity.

I would suggest using the seach thread function and research what actual owners say about their machines. I did that exact thing when looking at a particular tractor. I was looking at a 5103 until I started reading comments from actual owners. Some like it but others were not pleased with it.

I like red stuff, but buy where you think you'll get the best support. If you think the support is the same, buy whatever tractor is the best value. Not the cheapest, but the most bang for the buck. They are both pretty basic tractors that should give you a good service.

That is very durable. The have been building their work horse utility tractors like that for years. Go look at a 200, 300, 400, 500 series. I am sure you will be suprised at what you see.

i think i have decided on the mf2625 mfwd. i have a 2605 2 wheel drive and love it. i like the shuttle on the mf because of having a fel. the jd was the best deal though.
