What to buy now

Hello everyone. I am a new guy to your forum and I've been impressed with the postings I read so far. Over a year ago I purchased a Kioti 3054 with a loader and tiller for about 13K. I use it on a small farmette to load manure, till the garden etc... The problem is that I hardly ever use the thing and it just sits in my barn. Basically it's a 13 thousand dollar dust collector. I guess I really don't need a tractor that bad but like all guys - I want one. When I purchased the Kioti I bought new because I was afraid of what I might get if I bought used. I'm changing my mind now. I think I'm going to put the Kioti out by the road and sell it. The question now is what to buy next. I've seen some of these grey market tractors advertised pretty cheap. Are they any good or should I stick with the U.S. brand names. The Brand name tractors seem to be very expensive for the hours they have on them. I'm confused and welcome any suggestions. Thanks

Why not just keep the Kioti. I'm not familiar with that model, but if you don't need the dust collector how would you utilize a new one any different?

If what you have is already paid for, I would keep it & be thankful I had a quality machine with lots of life in it.

If you sell, and buy something else, how do you know you will still be coming out on top?

The bottom line is that you have to be happy with your decision and to be able to live with it.

HI ! WELCOME TO THE FORUM i guess i am having a little proble understandin your question. u use it to load manure, till the garden etc. what is the etc?do u plow snow with it? do u cut grass with it? a tractor is like many other tools, u use them, then u don't for a while.. if u did not have the tractor , what would u use to do the tasks that u do with it now? u want to sell it then buy someting else? another tractor? but smaller? please clarify

Kris I guess I feel like asking the same question. If you can't justify the first purchase how are you going to justify the next? I would keep what you have, maintain it well, and it will always be there when and if you need it. Good luck to you. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for all the feedback. I guess I should have provided more information. My Kioti is a 30 HP diesel 4x4. I use the tractor to haul manure, haul wood, dig fenceposts holes, push snow, till the garden, reseed the pasture, and I used it to take down a few small trees. I guess I would like recommendations for a tractor in the 5000K range that can do those same things. Can you purchase a used tractor for 5000 that isn't wore out and will be breaking all the time? I can't justify having a 13,000 dollar tractor just sitting in the barn. Thanks

If you get rid of the tractor you now have,I do not think you will be happy with a $5000 unit versus what you now have. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You list a lot of chores you do with your Kioti but then you say it just sits in the barn. How many hours a year do you put on the tractor? For $5000 you couldn't buy an Yanmar 18hp with a loader. You will have a hard time finding a tractor to do everything you want and stay in that price range. Not to mention, whether you realize it or not, you are spoiled to that new tractor and will miss it when you get something in the $5K range.

I agree with the others, your original investement will payoff in the future. Just sit tight and sell some of your china if you need extra cash. Keep the tractor.
