I am looking to purchase a new CUT not sure exactly what to go with. There are three that I'm going to look at, they are Kubota 3240, Massey Ferguson 1533 and John Deere 3320. I'm choosing these because they are the closest dealers in the area. I'm want to use the tractor for landscaping and site preperation which involve digging hills and removing trees. I want a loader, backoe and pallet forks. I would like the tractor to lift up to 200lbs.

If you really want to lift 2000 lbs on the loader, you really need to step up to a little larger heavier tractor. If you step up to a 4000 to 4500 pound tractor and lift 2000 lbs on the loader you will still know you have a load out there. Good luck with your shopping.

200 lb or 2000 lb? I assume you mean 2000 lb.

In that case I would be looking at a loader with considerably more capacity, maybe as much as 3000 lb. For example, my Mahindra 5525 tractor weighs 5370 lb without the loader and its ML250 loader can lift 2980 lb to full height at the pivot pins. Even so, a 2000 lb load is pretty sporty and I would be very cautious in toting that size load even with a large tractor like the 5525.

You need to carefully consider how you plan to move that 2000 lb load (max lift height, slope and roughness of the ground, etc). It's all too easy to tip a tractor with a heavy load just by dropping a front wheel into a wheel rut.

You need to consider how high you need to lift 2000 pounds. If you look at the loader for my TC31, it has a capacity of 1250, at the pins, at max height, which is 98 inches. At 39 inches it has a capacity 1596. I would also consider how often you will be lifting the load and the terrain you will be traversing. If you will be lifting 2000 pounds often I might look at slightly larger models.

I agree.. 2000# is pretty hefty for a cut.

I have an old antique 33 hp tractor that will break out 3000, and lift 1200# to full height.. but that's a long way from 2000.. etc.. and it's alot of metal and tractor for an antique job.. nothing is under rated.. etc..

I was also looking at a Kubota 3240 & 4240.,if i am correct the 4240 loader will lift 1980 lbs.I wanted a tractor that would lift 2000 lbs also.I ended buying a Kioti DK 40se.with the KL401 loader it will lift 2761lbs.coobie

Yeah your right that us a stretch for lift capacity, I went and educated myself and talked to different dealers. I'm looking more for a tractor to do loader work and backhoe work the lifting capacity is a solid bonus around the shop. After visiting my top three JD, MF ,Kubota I really made a connection with Massey Ferguson. The MF dealer was top notch the JD dealer slammed everybody else for almost a .5hr before really talking about his product. The Jd dealer made untruthfull claims against competitors product. Meanwhile I'm really trying to decide between a 1528 or 1533. The 1533 realy apeals to me because I realy beleive it is a supior tractor than 1528. The finance rate is better they offer 0% for 60 months rather than 0% for 36 months on the 1528 series. I think 5000 dollars base price is worht it. What tranny do I go with 8x8, 12x12 or hydrostatic? I want to do loader work and backhoe.

I got the in between M/F 1531,it has the hydrostatic ,it has three settings plus five speeds, lowest setting is real good for entering a pile, not for traveling. I've had to be carefull, if I lift a load and am not centered the hydraulics can lift up the opposite side of tractor off the ground, I'm on the controls incase I have to drop it,last tractor wouldn't do that because of smaller machine, slower hydraulics. I have the backhoe on mine plus the dealer did load the back tires. You also want to look at front axle capacity compared to the loader capacity on the tractor. Another thing is you want to keep the seal area clean on front axle where both front wheels pivot, Owner's manual can be a litle confusing,I had a little trouble finding my fuse box,it is under hood on passenger side, manual said it was next to steering column. My backhoe has a digging depth of 6 1/2 feet, other models, makes can dig to 8-10 feet if required. plowking

If you are going to use the loader to load trucks, go with the 12x12 power shuttle. The difference between the synchro and power is the clutch. Power shuttle can be used without the clutch.

The 12 x 12 seems to be the way to go the availability of the power shuttle is the major advantage. Should one even consider the hydrostatic transmission. I have read that the 12x12 or even the 8x8 are better transmissions for loader and backhoe work. One dealer talked as though hydrostatic was the way to go because it wasn't as hard on clutches. How hard on clutches would it actual be like how many hours before one burns out the clutch?
