Go to the barn, and build something in it. I chose this time to sort the tools my father left me, and store them away, and then got a wild idea of builidng the other work benches I need in the barn. The tops will come as we get cases in at work and they dispose of them. Some of our product comes in plywood crates, making getting this product CHEAP, as in FREE. I have about $4.00 in the 2 frames you see here, and that was for a 2x4 and the sheet rock screws holding it together.

Danny, please do not take this personally, I have seen these "trucks" on the road and cannot imagine why anyone would buy one. I can get more in my Minivan than one can get in the bed of whatever it is. My pickup is old, (71 Chevy) but I can put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the bed and close the tailgate... I just don't get it...

Danny, I bought my 2001 Sport Trac in February 2000. I first saw it at the auto show and knew I had to have it to replace my '94 Grand Jeep Cherokee. I have about 80k miles on it and I love it. With the bed extender and a rope and a red flag I can and have hauled 14' wood (with the rear window down). I like the deep bed, side tie downs and long tailgate. I only wish I had 4wd because I have had to pull myself out more than once with the tractor and come-along. I have the hard cover for the bed so my stuff doesn't get wet and it removes easy to haul big bulky stuff. Also the fold down rear seats are nice. I agree, it is a good compromise, enjoy! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This is exactly why I have a 6 x 12 foot trailer to haul what WONT fit in the truck.........but a ton of sand fits in it, and I dont want to shovel off much more than that at one time. They are great in town, comfortable, easy to drive, and park, fun, and when needed the 4 wheel drive is great. It is used more as a vehicle than truck. If and when I need more truck, I hook up the trailer and haul..........whatever I need to.
Oh and could you, or would your wife let you put a ton of loose sand in your SUV or van, and would it pull it if you did? You only prove that Ford can make both and sell both, thanks

I could not buy it without 4 wheel drive. I wish I had the hard cover on mine, I am afraid she is going to buy one then tell me about it.
We actually are leaning toward the soft cover, since we will use this as a truck........load rocks, sand, dirt, and probably some things bigger than the cover would allow.

Danny.... looks like you got a nice outbuilding/barn. I've always been a GM man but I really like those Sport Tracs. I think Ford was ahead of the game on those.... it's a nice niche market... a great comforatble small "SUV" that most women would feel very comfy driving and can haul the occasional normal truck stuff.
