I'm in the process of converting to a quick attach setup on my FEL. Strangely, the price of converting the used 60" bucket with labor factored in was just a few dollars shy of buying one of the new higher capacity 60" buckets already set up. So that's what I did.

Now I'm looking at this bucket sitting here, and I'm at a loss for what to do with it. I cant imagine there is a large market for it to try to sell it, and I certainly dont think anyone would pay to have it shipped.

Any project ideas? Sell it for scrap? Try to give it away and see if anyone bites?

Cheers,
Rich

What ever you do don't scrap it! Save it, cut the ears off and weld a QA plate on. I have 2 FEL's and 3 buckets. It works out good. With this you can put a tooth bar on the old one and never take it off the bucket. . . .John

Im with jpm1.
.... All in your personal circumstances. To many it would be useful for a project in the long run. I have a similar one and will be converting it to QA and reinforcing and narrowing it to 4' to make a durable grubbing bucket for the 7520. If you were close it would be worth paying you something and coming to get it. Shipment is a killer. Do you have equipment consignment auctions in your area? You might get more than its worth to you. :confused3:

If you were to give it away, I'd be there today. And I'm sure there'd be plenty of people clamouring for it "at that price". If you don't want to keep it, I'd suggest at least listing it on Craigslist for a very reasonable price. You might be surprised at the interest. There's always going to be someone looking for a bucket at a bargain, even if they do have to modify it for their needs.

Put it under a tree and fill it with ice and beer next July. QA plate not required.

That is what I did, I have 2 buckets and they both have their uses. the original is 58 3/8 and the new one is 66. I am fixing to get a tooth bar for the old original one. being narrower it digs better anyhow and the wider one is great for hauling materiels. Although I whined about all the work to convert my bucket to SSQA, It was worth it in the end.. and I would gladly do it again.

Sabooo, I also installed the Kioti QA mount on my KL130, purchased the new larger Kioti QA bucket and added forks to my arsenal so far. My older pin mount bucket is in great shape with a reversable cutting edge. If you have a place to store it and especially if you can do a little welding, I'd keep it for a later project. I'm sure something will come up. If you want it gone, place a few adds because it's worth a few bucks and definately more than scrap prices.

Thanks everyone for the input!

I agree on not scrapping. Unfortunately, I don't weld, or do metal work, so any sort of modification is going to translate to $hop time. It's a 60", set up for the KL-130's pin layout. It was drilled for a toothbar, which I've moved over to the new bucket. 5/16" chain hooks welded on. The only damage to the bucket is the indentations from using the chain hooks for some heavy lifting. Fresh paint will work wonders.

I have no idea what to even ask for it.

Some pics attached to aid the conversation.

I actually thought about this, and also making some leg's for it and using it for a charcoal grill. :)
