Never got the speech. All my pensions were disolved as my companies got bought out. Learned investing late. Thought bank accounts were it. Then I met a girl and reality stepped in. LOL.I WAS given that speech, but didn't really get into investing until my mid-30s. I did, however, buy my first house when I was 25 so I guess you could consider that an investment. Was pretty "house poor" for the first 10 years or so.
IRAs/401ks didn't exist until I was in my 30s, no company I ever worked for had any sort of pension plan.
